A Conversation in Kindness
The PTA Council of Fairfield and The Kindness Solution are working with the Town of Fairfield, CT to make kindness a part of the town’s public agendas which affect homes, schools, workplaces, and community.
Fairfield, CT: On Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 5:30 pm – 7 pm, Veronica Mollica, of The Kindness Solution, is hosting “A Conversation in Kindness” at the home of Carolyn and Mauricio Trabuco in Fairfield, CT. Joining Mrs. Mollica will be Michael Lloyd-White, the Chief Advisor to the Board of World Kindness USA, to explore how Fairfield can create a kinder world starting right here in it’s amazing community. Our human mission is to spread acts of kindness and Fairfield is an exemplar community for the world.
First Selectman Tetreau is the guest of honor, as this subject is near and dear to his heart. As Mrs. Mollica explains, “He has been a huge supporter of our “Kindness Matters” initiatives since we launched our Kindness Committee at North Stratfield School in 2012 and now spread across 18 schools in Fairfield. First Selectman Tetreau drew up a Proclamation for the town to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week in February annually. We will all learn together what each of us can can do to become recognized as a “World Kindness City” and place kindness on the agenda in our local government, schools, corporations, small businesses and retail outlets, non-profits, and, of course, our families.”
About Us: World Kindness USA was launched last year and is a platform for national collaboration based on a foundation of kindness designed to encourage and support all sectors of our communities to engage in this global campaign. The time is now to join the campaign for a kinder world which welcomes everyone regardless of tribe, race, religion, gender, politics, age, sexual preference and/or zip codes.
The Fairfield PTA Council (PTAC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education. PTAC strives to unify the 18 separate PTA school units in our town to best understand and meet their needs. Our community is comprised of 11 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools and an early childhood center. PTAC’s mission is to be a support system for the greater community. We are committed to provide unified community communication, act as an educational advocate support system, and build bridges amongst the people and its organizations. The Fairfield PTAC, Fairfield PTA organizations, Fairfield Public Schools administration, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen, RTM, Public Safety entities, and others all come together to represent one voice for every child, for the greater good.
The Kindness Solution is a community movement and platform that believes that kindness is the solution to every challenge we face individually and collectively. We share ideas and resources on how to proactively look for ways to uplift and encourage each other at home, school, online, and in our workplaces and communities.
By teaching Kindness Matters in our schools, we are helping our children build a foundational skill that will enrich not only their own lives, but make a positive impact on their communities and the world. When we encourage children to accept and support each other, they experience firsthand the profound power and impact of their thoughts, words, and actions. In this way, we create an environment based on inclusion and acceptance where children feel inspired to express themselves and live authentically. By teaching age appropriate themes of self-love, empathy, and cooperation throughout Elementary, Middle, and High School, our goal is to send our children into the world with the operating principle of looking at every aspect of their lives through the lens of kindness.
